41 - Lahaina Destroyed by Power Lines, Not Climate Change
Notes
This week we covered the tragic fire in Lahaina, a town that I lived and worked in for a year. This episode was recorded August 15, 2023. I did my best to cover this without getting too emotional, but I did get a bit caried away and miss a couple of things. Like the water being turned off. I was told that they couldn't maintain pressure because the water requires electricity to stay pressurized. Even the fire trucks weren't getting able to get water from the hydrants. The emergency sirens didn't go off. And they've closed the only road into town, and they're arresting people for trespassing. Aside from that, I think we did a good job. We'll continue to cover this as we get more information.
