Notes

God is not just a God of restoration—He is a God of restitution. He doesn’t merely bring things back to how they were; He makes them better than before. In Christ, we don’t simply regain what was lost—we receive double for our trouble. “And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job… and the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.” (Job 42:10)

This is the very heart of the gospel. Adam walked with God, but through Jesus, God now dwells within us. The fall of man wasn’t the end; it was the setup for a greater revelation of God’s grace and love. Nothing is wasted in God’s hands—“all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

If you’re ready to walk in God’s promise of restitution, here are five key principles to hold onto:

1. Victory is already won. Just as God told Joshua, “See, I have given Jericho into your hand” (Joshua 6:2), you are not fighting to win—you’re standing in the victory that Jesus has already secured.

2. Trust God’s timing. Like Joshua, who marched for seven days, your breakthrough might require patience. “Those who have faith and patience inherit the promises.” (Hebrews 6:12) Delays are not denials—they’re often signs that a greater blessing is coming.

3. Proclaim the gospel boldly. As the priests blew the ram’s horn before Jericho fell, you are called to declare Christ’s victory. When the gospel is preached, faith rises—and walls fall.

4. Keep Christ at the center. The Ark of the Covenant stood in the midst of the people as they marched. In the same way, we must fix our eyes on Jesus, “the founder and perfecter of our faith.” (Hebrews 12:2) He is our anchor, not our feelings or circumstances.

5. Declare your victory out loud. When the Israelites shouted in faith, the walls collapsed. “When the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, the wall fell down flat.” (Joshua 6:20) Your faith-filled declarations open the door for God’s power to be revealed.

You are not defined by your losses. Whatever you’ve gone through, your story is not finished. Like Job, who received double, God is preparing a comeback greater than the setback. He is not just restoring what was lost—He’s upgrading it. So shout your victory now—He’s doing more than you can imagine!
