001 - We are the expert of our kids
Notes
Welcome to "Parenting the Intensity," the podcast that supports parents raising emotionally intense children. In this episode, titled "We are the Experts of Our Kids," we explore the importance of trusting ourselves as parents and recognizing our expertise in understanding our children.
We often doubt our parenting abilities, especially when confronted with conflicting advice from numerous experts. However, we are the ones who see our children in all situations, gathering information from various sources and making connections that others cannot. This unique perspective makes us the true experts of our own children.
Being an expert doesn't mean doing everything ourselves. It would be overwhelming! As parents, we have the ability to gather input and ideas from others, including fellow parents and family members. We can filter this information through what we know about our children and decide what aligns with our values and their needs.
In future episodes, we will discuss solutions and ideas for parenting emotionally intense kids. We'll share our own suggestions and invite experts as guests, providing a range of perspectives. Remember, these suggestions are not prescriptions. They are meant to help you discover what works best for your family.
Thank you for joining us on this episode of "Parenting the Intensity." We hope the information shared here is helpful in guiding you as the expert of your own children. Trust yourself, follow your instincts, and keep exploring new ways to parent.
Make sure to subscribe to our podcast for future episodes and leave a rating and review, that helps us get in front of more parents. Don't forget to check out the resources mentioned on our website at www.parentingtheintensity.ca
